Be An Informed Voter

Below, we've suggested several resources that will help you stay informed and up-to-date on everything that will be on your ballot. We also encourage you to checkout our YouTube page to listen from candidates that came visit us at our meetings.


To locate your polling place and district information:

  • Enter an address in the address box

  • Hit enter or click the "Search" button

  • An exact address match will zoom to the location on the map

  • An in-exact match will display a list of possible address matche

What's On The Ballot?

Sample ballots are produced per Legislative District, per partisan (or non-partisan) ballot style.  If you do not know your NEW Legislative District or NEW Voting Precinct, you can find that by using our Polling Place Look-Up tool HERE.

Early Voting

  • Early Voting will be available at the County Elections Office starting May 2, 2022, through May 13, 2022. The Elections Department is open Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM. 

Absentee Voting

  • To request an absentee ballot and check the status of your request please visit:

  • Alternatively, paper forms are available at the Kootenai County Elections Department or can be printed here

  • Absentee request forms can be dropped off, mailed, emailed, or faxed to the Elections Department.  The last day to request a mail-in absentee ballot is Friday, May 6 at 5:00 PM.

  • Poll Workers earn $150 for training and working a full day at the polls on Election Day.

  • Must be able to work at least a 14 hour day (7 a.m. to 9 p.m.) on Election days in March, May, August and November.  Polls normally open at 8:00 a.m.  Workers will need to show up at least 30 minutes before the polls up open. 

  • Students that are 16 or older can also sign up to be a poll worker!
